Hi folks! Hope everyone is doing well and you all have been able to enjoy sometime outside despite the rainy weather lately! It’s also so good to hear that Larry Barb is home and doing well… we love you Larry and continue to keep you in our prayers!

This past wednesday we continued our study in the book of Ruth, it may be a short book, but it is full of some really great stuff! This past wednesday we dove into the next chapter of Ruth and learned a lot about the relationship between Ruth and Naomi, verse 1:16-17 contains some  touching words about the commitment and loyalty of Ruth to Naomi. Ruth choose to give up the Moabite gods for the one true God of Israel; embodieing the verse of Matthew 6:33 very well. Now I am getting ahead of myself here, but since this past weekend was Father’s day, I wanted to go ahead and talk about Boaz. We’re introduced to Boaz in chapter 2 of Ruth and it is true that the world is in great need of men who are like Boaz. God has created men and women with different roles, and it is a common problem for the human population to misuse those roles. Boaz was different, even in his leadership position treated his workers and women with equal respect and dignity. Boaz’s character came as a shock to Ruth who was reeling from the events of the book of Judges, in which it was common for men to use leadership roles for cruelty. Boaz broke this common trend of injustice among men at that time, we need more men to follow in his footsteps and lead in their families and churches wisely.

Nowadays, many people have developed the attitude that they will “answer to no one”, but even Jesus was under the authority of His heavenly father according to John 5:19 and 12:49. So, I wanted to give a shoutout to all the important men in our lives who are examples of humility before the Lord and that lead wisely in our homes and churches! Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read! And to my Dad, thank you for being such a great role model in my life, love you!!
